DESCRIPTION:This small\, charming church building contains some of the most unusual and famous stained-glass windows in the US. They were designed and created by French artists Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse. \nThis concert will celebrate the tenth anniversary of this French-styled pipe organ\, and the music of the concert will reflect this. Gordon Turk had a part is designing this instrument and has played several concerts on it. He is glad to have the opportunity to return to this quiet place\, surrounded by the beautiful window art\, to play this delightful organ\, which is ideally suited to the intimate space. \nNo admission charge.

This powerful composition is a very operatic setting of the sacred poetry that describes the emotions of Mary\, the mother of Jesus\, as she stands beside the cross. \nThe intense demands made upon the soloists and instruments\, cause this composition to be seldom performed. Gordon Turk has assembled a sensational quartet of soloists who join the choir in this dramatic performance\, and he will conduct and play his transcription of the orchestra score for organ accompaniment with timpani. \nNo admission charge.
